Sherwood T95 PL-33 Custom Leg pads

My custom order from GoalieMonkey arrived today about 2 weeks earlier than was projected.  I just want to take a moment and rave about the Customer service at the two GoalieMonkey stores I have dealt with now.  The first being the new Norwood Mass. store where I ordered my T-100 glove and the second being the internet/CA store.  I worked with Rob and Ryan on this order and I can’t say enough about how helpful those guys were in keeping me in the loop and  helping me decide what I wanted to do.

I ordered 34+2 sizing, white with black and silver weave (silver weave was not an option but i got it anyway), PL-33 graphic, black pad backs with white wings and calf guard (not regularly offered via Sherwood order form), Black Sherwood logos with silver t95 logo (not regularly offered through Sherwood), all leather straps in white and the only thing I wanted but Sherwood wouldn’t do was add the T-100 sliding toe bridge. So I think I’m just going to order some of the AR sliding toe bridges I have used before.

These are just first impressions but these are super light probably a pound or so lighter than my current 9400 Vaughn Visions.  They have a single external roll break and then two internal breaks but the main piece of foam is solid through and through. I’m curious to how well the will hold and s shape. My guess is also the rebound off of the faces and the boots will be huge, much further out than the visions.

The only two things I’m not 100% on is the material for the knee cradle strap and the leg cradle strap. It’s just a strip of stretchy velcro material that i know will lose its elasticity way to quickly so that may be the first mod the pads see.  I’ll probably install something a little beefier or just remove them all together because with the position of the leather strapping i don’t really need them at all.  My other beef is the leather strap for the skate is way to long and the top 2 are way to short.  It’s not an issue so far as the very very last hole seems to work for the knee strap or I feel I could just remove it all together and be super comfy still.  As always i tried the thigh wrap and it sucked so I swapped in my Reebok Revoke Pro Knee thigh guards.  First skate in them will be an open adult on friday so i get to do  a lot of tinkering.
