Restaurant Week: Druther’s Brewery
Its Restaurant Week here in Saratoga Springs. A great time of year where local restaurants put together special dishes at special prices to showcase their menu and talent. I saw the Druther’s Brewery (one of my favorite places) menu and had to have it.
Appetizer course: Peanut butter and Jelly Duck Wings with greens. The flavor on these blew my mind. The wings were tossed in a peanut sauce and then there was a red berry reduction on the bottom of the plate.
Entre: Duo of Filet Mignon and Mashed Potatoes. The potatoes were really just potatoes there isn’t too much you can do with mashed. The steaks though were the best prepared i ever had. A nice crispy seer on the outside and perfectly pink and tender inside. I have never eaten a cut of meat that soft and perfect to be honest
Dessert: Chocolate Mousse with whipped cream and fudge cake center. Heavy and super rich but the whipped cream was extremely light so it actually balanced well.
I paired it all with their Winter Warmer beer. Very similar to Sam Adams winter lager but much me consistent and a bit richer without that bloaty feeling after drinking a couple
